Practical Information
The majority of our guests fly into Alicante (ALC), around 1 hour away, with Valencia (VLC) at approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and Murcia (MJV) around 1 hour 45 minutes.
Car Hire — the most popular option and our recommendation. All three airports have car hire desks in the terminal, and having a car gives you the freedom to explore the Costa Blanca at your own pace. See our car hire recommendations above.
Taxi / Private Transfer — a hassle-free door-to-door option, ideal if you’re travelling with young children or lots of luggage. Several local transfer companies serve the Moraira area from all three airports. We’re happy to recommend one — just ask when you book.
Bus — budget-friendly but limited. From Alicante, you can take a direct bus to Benidorm or Dénia and connect to Moraira, though journey times are long and services infrequent. Not recommended if you’re travelling with luggage or arriving late.
Our recommendation: hire a car. Moraira is a small town and having your own transport makes everything easier — from airport to apartment, beach trips, day visits to the local markets, and the short drive to restaurants in the evening.

A car is essential for getting around Moraira and the surrounding area. For Valencia Airport (VLC), these are the strongest options based on local ratings, traveller feedback, and fewer complaints about hidden fees.
Best balance of price + reliability:
Centauro Car Hire — Very popular in Spain for competitive prices and simpler insurance options if booked direct. Consistently well rated for value.
SIXT Car Rental — Usually the smoothest premium experience, with newer cars and good service, though more expensive.
Malco Rent a Car — Strong local ratings and less of the mass-market airport chaos.
Europcar — Reliable mainstream option with a desk in the terminal.
Victoria Cars — Good reputation among Costa Blanca travellers for transparent rentals.

Services Available
Private Taxi Transfer (door-to-door)
Book a door-to-door private transfer from Alicante Airport directly to Moraira. At Alicante Airport you’ll be met at their Meet and Greet desk, where your uniformed driver will take you to your chosen destination.
Price starts from €110 for a standard taxi (up to 4 people). Journey time is approximately 1 hour 7 minutes, covering around 90 km.
Shared Shuttle Bus (Costa Connect)
This is a shared airport shuttle service available all year round from Alicante Airport to Moraira – the most economical option. There is a 45-minute waiting time between flights at the airport. Cost is approximately €15 compared to €80+ for a private taxi, making it a very cost-effective choice. The shuttle runs for flights arriving and departing between 09:00 and midnight. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before travel.
Train Station Transfer
They also offer transfers from Alicante Train Station to Moraira, starting from €110. The driver waits outside the CAFESTORE restaurant in the arrivals hall holding a Beniconnect sign.

Moraira has an excellent selection of supermarkets, from high-quality local stores to familiar international names.
Best all-round supermarkets:
Pepe la Sal — A local favourite with excellent fresh fish, meat, bakery, wine, and international products. Often described as the “Waitrose of Costa Blanca.” Also strong for Dutch, German, UK, and international foods.
Carrefour Market — Large selection, long opening hours, good for general shopping and imported goods.
Mercadona — Best value for Spanish groceries, fresh produce, prepared food, and household items. Popular with locals.
masymas — Quieter than Mercadona, with a good deli and fresh products.
Lidl — Cheapest for basics, bakery, snacks, and weekly middle-aisle deals.
British & international food:
The Food Co — British supermarket products and imported brands.
Pepe la Sal — Also strong for Dutch, German, UK, and international foods.

HCB Moraira — Ctra. Moraira-Benitachell, 22, 03724 Teulada/Moraira, Alicante. Large multilingual private medical centre with family doctors, specialists, diagnostics, ambulance support, and 24-hour emergency service.
International Clinic Moraira — Ctra. Moraira a Calpe, 124, 03724 Moraira, Alicante. English-speaking GP clinic offering appointments, blood tests, health checks, ECGs, prescriptions, and home visits.
Centro de Salud Moraira — Ctra. Moraira a Calpe, 18A, 03724 Moraira, Alicante. Public health centre for local residents and routine GP services.

“We first rented this apartment during the off-season at Christmas and found it welcoming, comfortable in the evenings, well equipped for cooking at home, and featuring a great balcony spanning the apartment’s full length, perfect for sundowners. We loved that first trip so much we came back in the summer and then twice a year for 5 weeks each time. Blue View is a very special apartment with great amenities, stunning views across the water, and 2 parking spaces. The host is great, very organised and responsive.
